Would you like to be involved as a Eucharistic Minister?

Eucharistic-MinisterInviting New Eucharistic Ministers to assist at Sunday Mass with the distribution of Holy Communion or to bring Communion to the housebound. Perhaps some of our existing Ministers may consider bringing Communion to the housebound. Ministers, when trained, are placed on a rota and usually serve every three weeks. We have a particular need for new ministers to serve in the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballycane. Training for this important ministry will be offered in early autumn. Parishioners who are already participating derive great personal satisfaction from their ministry. If you would be willing to consider this invitation please leave your name into the Parish Office or either Sacristy over the coming weeks. Please think about it, we would love to have you involved, thank you!

Restoration Work

Work has started in the area of the Church Spire. Judge Construction are on site and the project will run for about six weeks. Remedial and necessary work is now required on the roof of the Curate’s House and Parochial House on the Sallins Road. It is planned that this work will follow the spire project. It will be business as usual both at the church and houses during this time.

“God in All Things”

In a detailed account of how we are endangering our planet, through over consumption and abuse of natural resources like forests and wetlands, Pope Francis calls on the church to enter the debate about climate change and related issues to give a moral dimension to the scientific, economic and social elements already ….

Parish Mission 2015 – Could you help out in any way?

Planning for our Mission Week in October is well under way! We thank everyone who‘s come along to one of our planning meetings and helped us through the formation stage of our preparations. The Mission is both an invitation and a challenge. It will be an activity-packed week offering something for everyone to be a part of. We hope the Mission will bring new life to our parishes and be remembered as a time of great grace. The themes chosen by our own parish members are contemporary, relevant and challenging.

Statement of Interest Form is shown below. If you wish, you may print it off, fill it in and drop it back to the Parish Office at your convenience.
