Holy Week Confessions and Penance Services

April 1, 2015; 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

Jesus is crucified for our sinsHoly Week Penetential Services will take place as follows:
Naas Parish Church:- Wednesday 1st April at 8.00pm
Kill Parish Church: Tuesday 31st March at 8.00pm

Confessions in the Confession Room Confessions will be held on Holy Saturday 4th March in Naas Parish Church, Sallins Road,  from 10.00am to 1.00pm.

Holy Thursday Mass Times

April 2, 2015;

Eucharist or Sacraments SymbolsThe celebration of the Lord’s Supper is the highlight of Holy Thursday.  We remember and re-enact the Last Supper and the washing of the disciples feet by Jesus.

Morning Prayer: 10am – Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballycane

Naas Parish Church:- 7.30pm – Mass of the Lord’s Supper
Ballycane:- 7.30pm – Mass of the Lord’s Supper
Sallins:- 7.30pm - Mass of the Lord’s Supper
Two-Mile House:- 7.30pm  – Mass of the Lord’s Supper

Adoration: Following the 7.30pm mass there will be quiet prayer/adoration in Naas Parish Church, Sallins Road, ending with night prayer at 10.00pm.

Good Friday Ceremony Times – Celebration of the Lord’s Passion

April 3, 2015;

Today Good Friday we celebrate the passion and death of Jesus on the cross.  Jesus chose to bear our burdens and give his life that we might live; live life to the full on this earth and new life in eternity.  If you can, keep this a sacred day and try to attend one of the ceremonies.

Ecumenical Prayer and Pilgrimage:- Begins with ‘The Stations of the Cross’ in Church of Our Lady and St David, Sallins Road; then proceed to St. David’s Church of Ireland, Main Street for prayers at 8.00pm; then walk to Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballycane for ‘Prayer around the Cross’ Service at 9.00pm.

Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday Mass Times

April 4, 2015 to April 5, 2015. April 5, 2015;

resurrectionDaytime Holy Saturday is a time of waiting. Our churches are left bare of decoration and no masses or ceremonies take place. But come the fall of darkness all that changes, because Easter begins; the church is decorated, people assemble, candles are lit, joyful Easter songs are sung, and the Easter Vigil Mass begins. This Easter Vigil Mass is the culmination of Holy Week. The Lord is Risen, he is truly Risen, Alleluia.

Naas Parish Church:- Easter Vigil, Saturday 9.00pm
Ballycane:- Easter Vigil, Saturday 9.00pm
Sallins:- Easter Vigil, Saturday 9.00pm

Confessions:

Confessions will be held on Holy Saturday 19th April in Naas Parish Church, Sallins Road, from 10.00am to 1.00pm.

Easter Sunday - day time Masses as Normal

Naas Parish Church:- 9.00a.m., 11.00a.m., & 6.00p.m.
Ballycane:- 10.30a.m. & 12.00p.m.
Sallins:- 10.00a.m. & 12 noon
Two-Mile House:- 11.00a.m.

An Ecumenical Sunrise Service will take place in Punchestown at 6.30am on Easter Sunday to which all are welcome. ‘On the first day of the week at the first sight of dawn’.

The Easter Collection for the support of the priests of the parish will take place at all Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday Masses.

Synod on the Family Online Questionnaire

An online version of the current questionnaire regarding the mission of the family in the Church and the contemporary world is now available for use.

Submissions will be made anonomously and will be complied by the communications committee. A report of all submissions will then be forwarded to Bishop’s house.
