Sacraments in the Parishes of Naas, Sallins and Two Mile House

2021

We are delighted that the plans for celebrating the Sacraments in our Parishes are, at this stage, able to go ahead.

Many thanks to the principals and teachers of all our schools for working with us to arrange these special times as safely and effectively as possible.

First Confession for Naas Schools takes place between 10am and 12 noon on Saturday 11th September in the Church of the Irish Martyrs in Ballycane, please bring your child to the Church at a time which suits you.

For Sallins and Two Mile House and Killashee Schools you will have been advised of a time and Church for your child’s First Confession via the parish whatsapp groups.

Please note

  • Please fill in and bring the card which will be distributed through the schools, and leave it with the priest
  • Adults are asked to wear a mask
  • Parish stewards will guide you to your seats

Confirmation dates have been sent to parents via the parish whatsapp groups

Please note

  • Attendance is limited to the young person, sponsor and parents, to keep numbers to a minimum.
  • Please arrive no more than ten minutes before the start of the ceremony
  • All those over 12 years of age are asked to wear a mask
  • Parish Stewards will guide you to your seats
  • We will be holding Confirmation in the context of a Service of the Word rather than Mass. This will keep the time spent in the church, and movement during the Service to a minimum.
  • The young people are not required to wear uniforms. Please make sure their dress is appropriate for the church.
  • There will be a card and pen in each seat for the young people. Please fill in the details, and present this to the priest when your family group comes forward for the Confirmation. This will be used for the official record of the Confirmation in our Parish Register.
  • Please be conscious that the church has to be sanitised after each ceremony before the next group arrives.

We hope that these days will be safe, happy, faith filled family occasions that your child will enjoy and remember
