SUMMARY:Global Celebration of Prayer
DESCRIPTION:At 5pm Irish time\, the Holy Father Pope Francis will preside over an extraordinary global celebration (Statio orbis) of prayer.  It will take place on the sagrato of Saint Peter’s Basilica\, Rome\, the platform at the top of the steps immediately in front of the façade of the church. \nThe ceremony will consist of \n\nreadings from the scriptures\,\nprayers of supplication\,\nadoration of the Blessed Sacrament.\n\nIt will conclude with Pope Francis giving his Urbi et Orbi (to the City of Rome and to the world) blessing. \nArchbishop Eamon Martin said\, \n “I gratefully acknowledge our national public service broadcaster\, RTÉ\, for facilitating the live broadcast of Pope Francis’ extraordinary Urbi et Orbi blessing at 5 p.m. on its News Now channel (6 p.m. Rome time). Urbi et Orbi is a very significant blessing which normally is only given by Pope Francis on Christmas and Easter. The wide dissemination of his important message and blessing will be welcomed by the many\, many people throughout Ireland as an opportunity to avail ourselves of Divine Grace. SUMMARY:Vigil of Prayer in Ballycane Church
DESCRIPTION:Parishioners are invited tome together on Friday 28th June for the Feast of the Sacred Heart as we will keep a vigil of prayer in Ballycane Church. We will begin with Mass at 7.30pm\, followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with moments of both guided prayer and silent\nadoration until Midnight\, when we will conclude with the Office of Readings and Benediction. Confession will also be available at specific times during the night. The focus of our prayer will be prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood and the Consecrated life. Perhaps you might like to volunteer to help with decorating the Church or to help on the night with an hour of the vigil\, reading\, singing or hospitality. If so\, please make contact with the Parish Office\, Sallins Road as soon as possible. Otherwise\, please just come along and join in on the night if you can.
