Along with many others, I firmly believe that the Protection of Life during Pregnancy Bill 2013 as currently framed is medically and ethically unsound in relation to the issue of suicide. It is a cause of profound concern to many that the expert evidence highlighting the flaws in this proposed legislation has had no real impact to date.

As part of the Year of Faith, Pope Francis will preside over a Holy Hour in Rome on Sunday afternoon, 2nd June, the Feast of Corpus Christi. Parishes around the world have been invited to join in solidarity with the Pope during this prayer time. On Sunday 2nd June, there will be a Holy Hour from 4 pm to 5 pm , in The Churtch of Our Lady and St. David, Sallins Road, Naas. All are welcome to come along to join in this special prayer time together with the worldwide church.

If so this might be for you… “Called to Discipleship, called to Ministry” is a day-long opportunity for reflection, learning and renewal being hosted by Faith Development Services in Mount St. Anne’s, Killenard, Co. Laois on June 8th. Registration at 9.45am and concluding at 4pm, the day will include a keynote talk, ministry workshops, time to enjoy the surroundings and meet other people involved in parish ministry .
