A meeting to discuss the future of Adoration in Ballycane, will take place on Wednesday 12th July at 8.15pm in the Church of The Irish Martyrs, after the 7.30pm evening Mass. All are welcome.

Clean-up of Ballycane Church Grounds

Would you be free tomorrow Monday 12th June from 7pm to 8.30pm to help sweep, edge grass, tidy shrubs and clear weeds and litter etc in Ballycane Church Grounds? We would love to see you there. Bring a spade, hoe or brush if possible. Paper pickers and some gloves supplied. Meet at Church car park. A Students Prayer at Exam Time

Thank you Lord for the gift of my life.
Thank you for my family, my friends and my education.
The exams are here now Lord, and I ask your blessing.
Some of my friends are feeling the pressure,
and sometimes I feel a little nervous too.
I want to do my best, so please guide me.
Help me to remember what I have studied.
Help me to express myself clearly, and keep me calm.
Be with me during the exams, and walk with me always. Amen.

Midsummer Arts Festival – Naas & Sallins

This year will see Bosco take you through the magic door, DABBING will have you moving in the street, as will the Naas Zumba Girls & lots of entertainment from Zorbing, Climbing Walls, A Giant Planetarium, Arts workshops, and ….

New Funeral Regulations

At a recent meeting with Officials from the Environment Section of Kildare County Council we were informed of a ‘New Directive’, which stipulates that it is no longer possible for burials to take place in St. Corban’s Cemetery on Sundays’. Therefore, there will no longer be any Funeral Masses celebrated on Sundays’. As a Parish we are obliged to comply with the New Directive from Kildare County Council. This new practice will also apply to both Sallins and Two Mile House and takes place with immediate effect.  (Removals to the Church on Sunday evenings will continue as normal).

We are currently recruiting new members to join us in serving at the altar in the Church of Our Lady and St. David, Sallins Road. At present we have a team of twenty very dedicated boys and girls who serve weekly at Sunday Masses and occasionally at other parish liturgies that require their service. Successful Parish Golf Classic at Craddockstown

Ballycane Church – Ministers of the Eucharist

Eucharistic-MinisterExtraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion: The Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballycane needs 19 people to train as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion for Saturday evening/Sunday Masses: For the 7.30pm Vigil Mass we need 7 new Ministers. For the 10.30am Mass we need 5 new Ministers. For the 12noon Mass we need 7 new Ministers. These additional Ministers would allow a rota of once every four weeks. Training will take place in the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballycane. Names and contact details can be left in the Office in Ballycane (Tel: 045 895 629) or in the Parish Office, Sallins Road. Please consider this necessary and beautiful ministry.
