Samaritans are seeking volunteers for their Newbridge Branch. Are you willing to give 3 to 4 hours a week to listen to those who are lonely, depressed and sometimes suicidal? No experience is necessary, as full training will be provided. To find out more please come to an information evenining on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th February at 8pm in 3 McElwain Terrace, Newbridge (opposite the Parish Centre). Saturday 11th of February is the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. During the 11a.m. Mass in Ballycane, we will have our annual Mass with the Anointing of the Sick . This sacrament is offered to all those who are in need of the Lord’s healing in their lives as a result of illness, an operation, medical treatment, the burden of years or some emotional angst. Perhaps a neighbour, friend or family member would be delighted to attend if they had a lift and someone to care for them while at the mass? The church is wheelchair friendly and has suitable toilet facilities.
