Daffodil Day – Irish Cancer Society

Picture of DaffodilsPlease support Daffodil Day in aid of the Irish Cancer Society which takes place on Friday 23rd March. Dafffodil distribution points will be evident in all towns and villages.

Local Volunteers needed to collect at Eurospar, Tesco Dublin Road and Tesco Monread. Collectors are needed from 10am to 10pm, if you could spare even one hour, it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Kay Callaghan on 086 382 7979. ‘The Irish Cancer Society needs your support’.

Chrism Mass at Carlow Cathedral


March 26, 2018; 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

You are warmly invited to join with Bishop Denis for the annual celebration of the Chrism Mass in the Cathedral, Carlow on Monday 26th March at 7.30pm, followed by a cuppa in Carlow College. Please come early to be sure of a seat! Parking available in Carlow College; entrance opposite Court House on the Old Dublin Road.  It is always a very special occasion. All most welcome.

Holy Thursday Mass Times

Eucharist or Sacraments SymbolsThe celebration of the Lord’s Supper is the highlight of Holy Thursday.  We remember and re-enact the Last Supper and the washing of the disciples feet by Jesus.

Morning Prayer: 10am – Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballycane

Naas Parish Church:- 7.30pm – Mass of the Lord’s Supper
Ballycane:- 7.30pm – Mass of the Lord’s Supper
Sallins:- 7.30pm - Mass of the Lord’s Supper
Two-Mile House:- 7.30pm  – Mass of the Lord’s Supper

Please return your Trocaire box today into the baskets provided on the steps of the sanctuary.

Adoration: Following the 7.30pm mass there will be quiet prayer/adoration in Naas Parish Church, Sallins Road, and in Ballycane Church ending with night prayer at 10.00pm.

Good Friday Ceremony Times – Celebration of the Lord’s Passion

Today Good Friday we celebrate the passion and death of Jesus on the cross.  Jesus chose to bear our burdens and give his life that we might live; live life to the full on this earth and new life in eternity.  If you can, keep this a sacred day and try to attend one of the ceremonies.

Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday Mass Times

resurrectionDaytime Holy Saturday is a time of waiting. Our churches are left bare of decoration and no masses or ceremonies take place. But come the fall of darkness all that changes, because Easter begins; the church is decorated, people assemble, candles are lit, joyful Easter songs are sung, and the Easter Vigil Mass begins. This Easter Vigil Mass is the culmination of Holy Week. The Lord is Risen, he is truly Risen, Alleluia.

An Ecumenical Sunrise Service will take place in Punchestown at 6.30am on Easter Sunday to which all are welcome. ‘On the first day of the week at the first sight of dawn’.

The Easter Collection for the support of the priests of the parish will take place at all Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday Masses.
