Chrism Mass at Carlow Cathedral

April 10, 2017; 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

You are warmly invited to join with Bishop Denis Nulty and the Priests of the diocese in the Cathedral, Carlow on Monday 10th April at 7.30pm. During this Mass the Holy Oils that will be used across the diocese for all Sacraments will be blessed and the priests of the diocese will renew their vows. It is always a very special occasion. All most welcome.

Eucharist or Sacraments SymbolsThe celebration of the Lord’s Supper is the highlight of Holy Thursday.  We remember and re-enact the Last Supper and the washing of the disciples feet by Jesus.

Good Friday Ceremony Times – Celebration of the Lord’s Passion

Today Good Friday we celebrate the passion and death of Jesus on the cross.  Jesus chose to bear our burdens and give his life that we might live; live life to the full on this earth and new life in eternity.  If you can, keep this a sacred day and try to attend one of the ceremonies.

resurrectionDaytime Holy Saturday is a time of waiting. Our churches are left bare of decoration and no masses or ceremonies take place. But come the fall of darkness all that changes, because Easter begins; the church is decorated, people assemble, candles are lit, joyful Easter songs are sung, and the Easter Vigil Mass begins. This Easter Vigil Mass is the culmination of Holy Week. The Lord is Risen, he is truly Risen, Alleluia.

An Ecumenical Sunrise Service will take place in Punchestown at 6.30am on Easter Sunday to which all are welcome. ‘On the first day of the week at the first sight of dawn’.

The Easter Collection for the support of the priests of the parish will take place at all Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday Masses.

Naas Easter Sunday Parade 2017

April 16, 2017; 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

Parade2009cThe Naas Easter Parade will be taking place this Easter Sunday, 16th April at 3pm. There will be lots of fun for all the family: Marching Bands, Community Groups, Sport Groups, Local Business, Irish Dancers, Gymnastics, Vintage Cars, and Steam Engines. The annual parade is usually watched by thousands of people and is a great family occasion.

Saturday Morning: 10.00am mass in Naas Parish Church.
(Normal mass times resume on Saturday evening – See above Mass Timetable).

PLEASE NOTE: No 7.30am or 7.30pm mass in Naas or 10.00am mass in Sallins during Easter Week.  No Friday 7.30pm Mass in Two Mile House.

Couples in Christ – Mass Saturday 22nd April

April 22, 2017; 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The 6pm Mass on Saturday 22nd April will be led by members of the Philippino Community from our Parish. The celebrant of the Mass will be Bishop Denis Nulty. During the Mass there will be an emphasis on the ‘Vocation of Marriage’. If you are celebrating a significant Wedding Anniversary throughout the year and would like to receive a blessing from Bishop Denis please leave your names into the Parish Office. All are welcome to join us.

Divine Mercy Sunday – 23rd April – Naas

April 23, 2017; 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

The feast of the Divine Mercy will be celebrated in the Church of Our lady and St David, Sallins Road at 3pm on Sunday 23rd April

Preparation for the Feast should consist of:
1. A Novena of the Chaplet of Divide Mercy commencing on Good Friday, 7th April.
2. Confession on or before the Feast.
