This weekend we give thanks to God for the Harvest, for the food that we are so fortunate to enjoy, we are truly blessed. Such a celebration reminds us of the precious nature of the earth. Did you know that on the First Day of September this year Pope Francis added a new Work of Mercy for Catholics to perform; “Caring for our Common Home”. This is not surprising given the deep concern expressed repeatedly by Pope Francis, urging all nations and peoples to care for and to look after the earth, which after all is our common home.
